Follow Friday #7

Follow Friday is a weekly blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

Q: When you’ve read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it..?)

I like to keep my books.  I really love having them on my shelves.  In an odd sense, they make me proud.  That's why I've never really enjoyed borrowing from a library.  It also turns out that I'm more likely to read one of my own books, for some reason.  In the future I will give some away, though, because I can already think of a few unwanted ones that take up some much-needed space on my shelves.  Perhaps I'll try trading as well.  :)

Today is the last day to enter my INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY!  Please enter if you haven't already.  I'd love to make you happy by sending you a book of your choice just in time for the holidays!  :D

  3. Following back. I agree with your comment about feeling proud of your book collection. That is definitely one drawback of borrowing books from the library. I adore your header, by the way.

  6. Oh my goodness, YES. I actually feel exactly the same way. It's a mixture of fondness and pride whenever I look at my shelves.

I *was* borrowing a fair bit from the library at one point, but I inevitably buy the books I borrow anyway :S

  7. I like reading my own books better than library books too. The slick protective cover then put on hardbacks annoys me when it makes the crinkle sound! LOL

  14. Hi! I know what you mean, there's nothing like a new book. I love that new book smell. Then, you get to keep it and read it over and over again. Ahh! Lol. Thanks for stopping/hopping by the blog. Followed back!:)

  15. I agree. But sometimes I borrow them from the library if I'm not sure I'm gonna like em. If it turns out I love them I buy the physical copy!

  16. I tend to read library books first because I know that they have to be returned by a specific date. I can read my own book at any time. I only buy books that I know I will keep. I don't loan or sell or give away.

  18. Ah! I used to keep all my books, but when I lost most of them in a flood, I changed my philosophy completely. Now, I give them away - usually I donate them to my library or I give them to friends or family.
