Top Ten Tuesday- Books That Made Me Emotional

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.

I have to admit that it's not very difficult to make me emotional.  Usually, the books I read make me happy, but I do love the occasional emotional roller coaster.  As far as I can remember, I can only recall about 4 books that have made me cry.  They may or may not be on this list.

1. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
This is one of the emotional roller coasters I was talking about.  Oliver's way of writing made you feel even more for the main character.

Simone Elkeles
This is one of the ones that made me cry.  Multiple times.  Alex does everything for Brittany and it just tugged at my heartstrings.

 Jay Asher
This one made me realize that everything we do can affect someone in a certain way.  It made me a little more cautious and think before I speak, as well.

4. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I keep reading this one for a reason.  It's one of my favorites, if not my number one.  The realization that things in your life could be worse is incredible.  I think we always seem to forget that.

5. Wasteland by
Francesca Lia Block
Here's another that made me cry.  Francesca's writing is just so beautifully heartbreaking and so different from what I've been reading recently.

6. Luna by Julie Anne Peters
I also love LGBT novels.  This one is a gorgeous one of a transgender who calls herself Luna, because she's only able to show her true form at night.

7. Nymph by Francesca Lia Block
Another Francesca book.  This one is just sexy.
Enough said.

8. The Notebook by
Nicholas Sparks
I cried.  Like a baby.  Anyone who's ever heard of The Notebook would know why.

9. Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
This one was the perfect mixture of happy and sad. It made me laugh one second and frown the next.  Loved it.

10. Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows by J.K. Rowling
It made me cry.  You know why.

Please feel free to leave the link to your top ten so I know which books made you emotional!

  2. I'll have to check out The Nymph. I love anything remotely related to a mermaid book.

BTW, I wanted to let you know that you won my Beautiful Days giveaway. (Hooray!) I can't believe I haven't found you blog before now. Beautiful header. =)

  3. I have Warm Bodies on my shelf, but just haven't picked it up yet, and probably won't be able to until December. But I'm glad to hear it's got some meaning behind it, instead of being just another zombie book.

  4. @Alison- Glad you feel the same!

@Alanna- The title and cover are slightly misleading. Nymph is a book of short stories about love and there's only one about a mermaid.
And thanks! I hope you feel welcome here. :D

@Amy- I really recommend that you read it as soon as you can! It's being made into a movie too! It's just that good. ;)

  5. Aw I didn't cry during Perfect Chemistry but I do love that book. I need to re-read it soon. I think I was more emotional during Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix because that book just brought up so many emotions, good and bad ones.

Thank you for the link to your blog that you posted on Pages of Forbidden Love.

    I love your blog header!
