May Wrap-Up and June TBR

As you'll see below, May wasn't the best month for me.  It seems as though the year progresses, my reading is suffering more and more.  I read half of what I usually read, which isn't so bad, but I just feel like reading one book a week is ridiculous for me, especially when I set my goals to read at least 115 books by the end of the year.

The books I managed to read in May:
-Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
-Nantucket Blue by Leila Howland
-Enchantment by Nikki Jefford
-The Program by Suzanne Young

I think reading Eleanor & Park so early in the month set me up for failure.  By the time I finished that book, I was so hung up on how beautiful the story was to really invest myself in anything else.

The books I started in May but have yet to finish:
-Parallel by Lauren Miller
-The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
-The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston
-Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith

All of these were very good so far, and the only reason I didn't finish them was because I got busy near the end of the month.  I do plan to try and finish these over the next few months, as well as catch up on some review copies I skipped from April and May.

The books I will definitely try to read in June (for review):

I'm so excited...I finally get to read Ink!  I've been waiting to since I received the ARC earlier this year, and now that it's finally June, I plan on starting it as soon as possible!

The books I hope to get to (list may change depending on mood):

Around summer, I ache for contemporaries about adventure and romance, so it's obvious why I chose these three!  Aside from trying to get through the review books I pushed back, I would love to get to at least one of these within the next couple months!

Ironically enough, my only May discussion post was about reading slumps and how to get out of them...ha!

At the beginning of the month, I was lucky enough to be able to meet Kiera Cass, Elizabeth Norris, Aprilynne Pike, and Amy Tintera.  They were total sweethearts!  I had a blast interviewing them for my blog, which you can see in my event recap!

I also took part in Armchair BEA this year, since I wasn't lucky enough to attend the actual event in NYC.  Check out my posts, where I introduced myself, spoke of tips to become a better blogger, held a giveaway to win my new favorite read, and shared my idea of good blogging ethics.

Finally, last month The Hollow Cupboards turned two!  My blog is now a toddler!  To celebrate, I'm hosting  giveaways until the end of June, so don't forget to check back!
