Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I read the first few chapters of this book last weekend and didn't get sucked in, therefore I started reading Stay by Deb Caletti. Now that I've finished that (review will be posted today or tomorrow) I'm going to try and get a little more of XVI by Julia Karr read.
Teaser 1 comes from page 194
1) "One time I was going to a party where I knew your grandfather would be. I wanted to get his attention, so I decided to get all dolled up. One of my girlfriends came over and we spent the entire day getting me coiffed, polished, and stuffed me into clothes I'd normally never dreamed of wearing."
"Did it work? Did he notice you?"
"Oh he noticed me alright." Gran laughed. "He walked over to me and said, 'Edith, you look like you fell into a bucket of paint, face-first, and stuck your finger in an electro socket gettin' out of it.'"
Teaser 2 is located on page 170
2) Between periods I searched the crowd of kids, thinking I'd at least see Sal. I wasn't sure why, but I knew that would only make me feel worse.
Alright, I'm gonna get crackin' on this book. I'll post the review as soon as it's done. I never thought I would do this- especially not this early in the game- but I'm actually behind on reviews for the first time.
If you care to tease me, leave a link and I'll check them out. :D
