Waiting on Wednesday #91

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases we can't wait to get our hands on!

Title: The Geography of You and Me
Author: Jennifer E. Smith
Release Date: April 15th, 2014
Publisher: Poppy

Lucy and Owen meet somewhere between the tenth and eleventh floors of a New York City apartment building, on an elevator rendered useless by a citywide blackout. After they're rescued, they spend a single night together, wandering the darkened streets and marveling at the rare appearance of stars above Manhattan. But once the power is restored, so is reality. Lucy soon moves to Edinburgh with her parents, while Owen heads out west with his father.

Lucy and Owen's relationship plays out across the globe as they stay in touch through postcards, occasional e-mails, and -- finally -- a reunion in the city where they first met.

A carefully charted map of a long-distance relationship, Jennifer E. Smith's new novel shows that the center of the world isn't necessarily a place. It can be a person, too.

I am so excited to finally be able to read a book about a long distance relationship! I know the pain of being in one, so I'm hoping to relate to the characters and their story!

What awesome title are you waiting for this Wednesday?

  5. YES. This book sounds amazing! I loved her previous two books, so I'm really looking forward to The Geography of You and Me (no short book titles for her, huh? xD). Great pick!

  6. Even though I haven't heard of this book before, I recognized the similarities right away to This Is What Happy Looks Like. I checked that book out from the library a few months ago, but I never got around to it.

I like the sound of this better, though, which sounds a bit similar to the plot of Serendipity. I loved that film!
